I have also undergone the adoption process, so I understand how important your documents are to you! I treat them like my own!
My fees (just increased due to March '08 gas prices) are: $92 for 1-3 documents $102 for 4-6 documents $112 for more than 6 docs Many times I will be courier-ing the same day I receive the documents and I’ll send back to you or on to the next location the same day. If I have another commitment and cannot courier on the day I receive the docs, I will let you know that it will get done the next possible day. Fees for California Sec. of State are: $20 per document, and $6 per public official lookup Explanation of the $6 fee The $20 is a flat per document rate. The $6 is PER PUBLIC OFFICIAL. If Mary Moore notarized 5 docs, its $20 x 5, PLUS $6 ($106) but if there were 5 different notaries it would be $20 x 5, PLUS $6 x 5 ($130) They charge $6 for every public official they have to look up. If it is a certified doc, it’s still $6 per public official, whomever’s name is on the stamp. This is safer than you trying to make an exact calculation, and the check ending up being for the wrong amount. -Check for the courier fee made payable to Stephanie Holm -Prepaid return airbill taking into account the additional weight of the extra paper (if applicable for the delivery service). If you have a very tight-fit packet, you might want to assume the next size up envelope will be needed for the return, therefore pre-pay the airbill based on the larger envelope. Fedex is always preferred. If prepaid airbill is not enclosed, the documents will have to be held pending receipt of your fedex account number or payment from you (paypal ok) for me to pay for the airbill. Back to Adopt-Tees
